Canadian BBQ Society to determine Canadian Food Championship’s BBQ Winners

Edmonton, AB—The Canadian Food Championships (CFC) has partnered with the Canadian BBQ Society (CBBQS) to determine which Canadian BBQ teams will be crowned the Canadian Food Champs. This partnership allows Canadian competitors of any sanctioned BBQ competition, in Canada or the USA a shot at qualifying to compete in the World Food Championships in Florida.

Basques Is Back, Baby!

We are extremely please to announce that the Canadian BBQ Society will once again be sponsored by the fine folks at Basques Hardwood Charcoal!

Last year they were extremely generous and helped us provide a free bag of Maple Sugar Charcoal to all teams competing at all Canadian events!! The feedback we received was tremendous and everyone appreciated this gift.

Building on last year's success, we will be working together again in 2015! We couldn't be happier to be associated with the best charcoal in Canada! Thank you, Basques!!

Happy New Year! It's 2015!

Here we are, another year! This year will see some big changes for the Canadian BBQ Society. New comps, new prizes, new partnerships and an even stronger presence than we had last year.

Here are some quicks highlights from 2014:

We had 70 teams from 6 provinces across Canada join the Society! 70! That's huge! And we kept tabs on all of them, tracking everyone's scores all season long. This was the first time this had even been attempted in Canada and we received tons of positive feedback. Teams really appreciated seeing how they ranked amongst other teams, but also seeing their own stats at a glance on each of their pages here.

We tracked competitions from 3 sanctioning bodies: (13 from the PNWBA, 30 KCBS and 3 CSBBQA events) for a total of 46 contests!
